His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896–1977) is widely regarded as the world's pre-eminent exponent of Bhakti-yoga — the practice of loving devotion to God — to the Western world. In 1966 he established ISKCON to bring the teachings of the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam to people everywhere.
Hare Krishna Temple of Austin is affiliated with ISKCON and follows the Vaishnava tradition guided by Srila Prabhupada's teachings. ISKCON devotees chant God's names in the form of the maha-mantra: Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare.

Sunday Feast
Every Sunday 11:15 AM – 2:00 PM. Kirtan, sloka recitation, Bhagavad Gita class, Arati, and free vegetarian Prasadam. All are welcome.
Gita Aashraya
Mondays at 7:30 PM. A lively discussion-based program exploring the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Held at the Temple and online.
Bhagavat Sangha
Wednesdays at 7:00 PM online. Devotees present and discuss verses from the Srimad Bhagavatam in a warm, community setting.
Bhakti Shastri
Thursdays 7:00 PM (Batch 2) and Saturdays 2:15 PM (Batch 1) online. In-depth study of Bhagavad Gita, Nectar of Devotion, and Nectar of Instruction.
Children's Classes
Damodar Class (ages 3–6) Fridays 5:15 PM · Nanda Kishore (ages 6–12) Sundays 10:00 AM at the Temple · Gaura Kishore advanced batch Saturdays 5:30 PM online.
Teens & Youth
Sundays at 10:15 AM at the Temple. Practical spirituality and life lessons from the Bhagavad Gita for ages 13–18.
Kirtan Sanga
First Friday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Temple. Congregational chanting of the Holy Name — an uplifting evening of devotional music.
Acharya Upasanam
Alternate Fridays at 7:00 PM at the Temple. In-depth study of the golden purports of Srimad Bhagavatam.
Applied Bhagavad Gita
Saturdays at 5:30 PM online. Practical application of Bhagavad Gita wisdom to modern everyday life and personal growth.
